Participants study the roles and responsibilities of personnel authorized to sign Work Permits (PTW), as well as the documents used within the PTW system, including the procedures of the PTW office. The course covers types of work performed under work permits, various kinds of permits and authorizations, and requirements for implementing the lockout/tagout system. Detailed attention is given to the procedures for issuing work permits, personnel actions in response to emergency alarms, and the training, competency assessment, and certification of workers involved in PTW activities
